Zee Tamil has acquired the satellite rights to John Doe, director Madhumita's film starring Arjun Das, producer Arka Mediaworks announced on X on 25 October 2026. The deal gives the film a television home ahead of its cinema release this November, and presenter AGS Cinemas carried the same announcement on its own account that evening.

What the makers disclosed

The news came with two posters, one in English and one in Tamil, each headlined with the channel's logo. Neither the producer nor the channel has put a value on the deal.

The makers repeated only that the film opens in cinemas in November, without naming a date. Both posters carry the Netflix logo at the bottom, as the earlier artwork did, but the production house has not said what part the streaming service plays in the release.

The film so far

Arka Mediaworks revealed the title on 18 October 2026, describing John Doe as its ninth production, with Arjun Das, Sanchana Natarajan and Srishti in the cast. On 22 October, a first-look poster introduced Arjun Das as Chandru, dressed in police uniform.

Madhumita wrote and directed the film, and the poster credits show she developed the story and screenplay with Nicholas Chevaillier. Prasad Devineni and Shobu Yarlagadda are the producers.

On the technical side, the credits name Mujeeb Majeed as composer and Preetha Jayaraman as cinematographer.
