Director Tamizharasan Pachamuthu said on X on 13 October 2026 that nothing from Dhanush's D56 will come out before Om is released. He was answering a fan who asked whether the film's first look would arrive for Diwali. His reply was that it would not, and that whatever comes next will follow Om's release.

What the director did and did not say

He gave no date for the first look or for any other promotional material. The only timeline on record from him is the sequence: Om first, then D56 updates. With Om dated for late November, a Diwali first look is off the table for now.

Om comes first

Om, also starring Dhanush, is directed by Rajkumar Periasamy. Its production house, Wunderbar Films, has announced that it opens worldwide in theatres on 20 November 2026. That puts any D56 update after that date at the earliest.

D56 so far

Sithara Entertainments announced that D56 went on floors on 25 September 2026 and that the film is aimed at a summer 2027 release. The banner shared a launch glimpse on 30 September. Its announcements name Dhanush in the lead, with Vadivelu, SJ Suryah, Preity Mukundhan and Vijay B Kumar, and list Tamizharasan Pachamuthu as director. They also name Sai Abhyankkar, Primark Productions, Srikara Studios, Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya on the project. The title has not been revealed; D56 remains a working name.

What is confirmed, and what is not

Confirmed: the director has ruled out a Diwali first look and said D56 updates follow Om's release; Wunderbar Films has dated Om for 20 November 2026; Sithara Entertainments has the film on floors since 25 September 2026 with a summer 2027 target.

Not announced yet: a first-look date, the official title, a trailer, songs, or a firm theatrical date beyond the summer 2027 target. Likit will update this page when the production house or director shares more.
