Jiiva's 49th film, directed by Muhammad Musthafa, formally got under way with a pooja ceremony, the actor and the film's two production houses, Passion Studios and Super Good Studios, announced on X on 27 October 2026. The project, still referred to by its working name Jiiva49, places Jiiva alongside Nimisha Sajayan and Angel Maria, who are billed with him at the top of the launch backdrop.
What the launch posts confirm
Jiiva posted the news at about 5:06 PM IST, and Super Good Studios and Passion Studios shared the same announcement and photographs from their own accounts the same evening. Each post describes the start of the film as an auspicious beginning marked by a special pooja.
The backdrop at the ceremony carries the logos of both banners, the three lead names and the Jiiva49 title. It credits Muhammad Musthafa as director and lists Jiiva among the producers.
Who is on board
Nimisha Sajayan and Angel Maria are the two actors named with Jiiva so far. Neither the posts nor the backdrop describe their characters or say how the cast will be extended.
Crew credits beyond the director were only partly legible in the photographs released, so Likit is not naming other technicians at this stage.
Where Jiiva's slate stands
The new film adds to a busy period for the actor. On 23 October 2026, Jiiva and Lark Studios announced that Thagappan, written and directed by Ra. Venkat, will open in cinemas on 24 December 2026.
