Director Sundar C's Mookuthi Amman 2: Mahasakthi (2026), led by Nayanthara, has cleared certification with a U/A 16+ rating, Vels Film International announced on X on the evening of 27 October 2026. In the same post, the production house restated that the film will reach theatres on 6 November 2026 as its Diwali release.
What the certificate poster shows
The announcement came with a new poster built around the rating. It places the word "Censored" and a large U/A mark, with a 16+ tag beside it, over a desert backdrop, with a goddess's trident rising through the centre. The banner's post describes the film as "a Sundar C spectacle" and promises grandeur, devotion and powerful emotions.
The team named on the poster
According to the poster, Dr. Ishari K Ganesh presents and produces the film under the Vels Film International banner. Khushbu Sundar, Kushmitha Ganesh, Ishan Saksena and Vignesh Shivan are credited as co-producers, and Hiphop Tamizha, the film's composer, is billed in the crew block.
The artwork also carries the logos of Vels Music, JioHotstar and Vijay Television, though the post did not explain what role each company plays in the release.
How the build-up has gone
The certificate follows a busy fortnight of updates from the banner. On 21 October 2026 it released World of Mahasakthi, a promotional video, and on 22 October Red Giant Movies said it would distribute the film in Tamil Nadu cinemas. Two days later, Vels Film International named five channels, including Vijay Television and Asianet, as holders of the satellite rights.
