Karthik Subbaraj's Tamil film Dorothy (2026) began streaming on Netflix on 23 October 2026. The director announced a worldwide midnight start on his X account the evening before, and Netflix India South, the streamer's regional account, confirmed the film is out in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

How the date was set

Netflix India South first fixed the date in a post on 20 October 2026, two days before Subbaraj's announcement. On 22 October, the director wrote that the film would be available to Netflix subscribers globally from 12 am that night.

On the morning of 23 October, the Netflix account posted that the film was out now, and Sikhya Entertainment said the same in its own post that day.

Still running in theatres

In his 22 October post, Subbaraj said the film was still running in a limited number of theatres. He asked viewers to watch or rewatch it either in cinemas or on the streaming service.

The film had reached its 25th day in theatres by 19 October 2026, when Subbaraj marked the milestone by sharing a making-of video titled "The Red Sand". Dhammam Films, which is among the producers, also posted about the 25-day mark that day.

Who is in it

Netflix's listing for the film credits Subbaraj as director and names Sananth Reddy, Rishikanth and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. Sikhya Entertainment's streaming post bills it as a Karthik Subbaraj film.
