Jailer 2, the Rajinikanth-led sequel written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, opened in theatres worldwide on 15 October 2026, a day after its North American distributor, Shloka Entertainments, said advance ticket sales in that market had crossed $1 million.
What the distributor said
Shloka Entertainments shared the number on X at 3:49 AM IST on 14 October 2026, saying the film had passed $1 million in pre-sales and that the count was still rising. The post named the company as the film's distributor in North America but did not split the total by country, city or show.
Sun Pictures reposted the update on its own account at 11:16 AM IST the same day.
The producer's release-week posts
The banner marked the opening with X posts at midnight IST and again at 6:00 AM IST on release day. On 14 October, it said Jailer 2 would also play in IMAX theatres worldwide.
In the days before release, the producer's posts pointed readers to ticket bookings on BookMyShow and District, linking to the film's pages on both platforms. The film's official X account credits Anirudh Ravichander as its composer.
Likit is not reporting unofficial India or Tamil Nadu pre-sales estimates, which differ from one another and have not been confirmed by the producer or any distributor.
